Most everyone we know loves pasta, and while it’s not the healthiest of options, sometimes you want to treat your little one to a meal that any adult would love as well.

Watercress Pesto Pasta Recipe
Most everyone we know loves pasta, and while it's not the healthiest of options, sometimes you want to treat your little one to a meal that any adult would love as well.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Pasta cooked or uncooked (see directions below)
- 1 1/2 cups pine nuts or walnuts lightly toasted
- 2 cups watercress stems removed, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup basil sliced and packed
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons extra virgiin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
Rice, Pasta and Grains Insert Directions
- Put the pasta in the Rice, Pasta and Grains Insert.
- Pour water into the tank (level 3) and 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons of water directly into the bowl.
- Start the cooking process.
- When the pasta is cooked, put it in a bowl and set it aside.
Directions for Already Cooked Pasta
- Put the watercress in the steamer basket.
- Pour water into tank (level 2).
- Start the cooking process.
- When the watercress is cooked, put it in the blending bowl with toasted walnuts, reserving the cooking liquid.
- Add the lemon juice, basil, olive oil, salt and garlic.
- Blend, adding some of the cooking liquid to bring the pesto the desired consistency.
