first artichokes

Artichokes are extremely rich in minerals. They also contain a type of sugar called insulin, which promotes a balanced amount of intestinal floral and gives the veggie a sweet taste which is enjoyed even by very young children.

  1. Peel off the first layer or two of artichoke leaves and break the stem by hand to pull out all of the artichoke’s hard fibers.
  2. Cut the raw artichoke around the bottom. Remove the choke with a teaspoon and cut the heart into big chunks.
  3. Put the choke in the steamer basket
  4. Pour water into the tank (level 3).
  5. Start the cooking process.
  6. When the choke is cooked, put it in the blending bowl, reserving the cooking liquid.
  7. Pulse blend three times, adding a little milk and/or cooking liquid between each pulse to bring the purée to the desired consistency and blend.
