Eggplant, Tomato and Lentil Purée
Lentils for baby…why not? When made into a purée, lentils become creamy and take on the flavors of the food that they’re cooked with (in this case, eggplant and tomato). Though lentils may not be thought of as a traditional baby food, they have high levels of iron, protein and fiber which are oh-so important for baby!

- Put the lentils in the Rice, Pasta and Grains insert.
- Pour water into the tank (level 3) and 1/4 cup + 3 tablespoons of water directly into the bowl.
- Start the cooking process.
- When the lentils are cooked, put them in a bowl and set it aside.
- Put the eggplant and tomato in the steamer basket.
- Pour water into the tank (level 2).
- Start the cooking process.
- When the eggplant and tomato are cooked, put them in the blending bowl with the lentils, reserving the cooking liquid.
- Add some of the cooking liquid to bring the purée to the desired consistency and blend.
