Baby’s Lentil, Veggie, and Za’atar Soup

Here’s a protein-packed soup that is flavorful and filling! Did you know that after soybeans, lentils have the second highest level of protein among all legumes? They’re also an excellent source of iron for baby. Plus, the added Za’atar will make this a yummy soup your little one is sure to love.

  1. Line the base of the steamer basket with parchment paper; this will prevent the lentils from falling through.
  2. Put the lentils, celery, carrot, za’atar and ham in the steamer basket.
  3. Pour water into the tank (level 3).
  4. Start the cooking process.
  5. When the lentils, celery, carrot and ham are cooked, put them in the blending bowl, reserving the cooking liquid.
  6. Add the salt and some of the cooking liquid to bring the soup to the desired consistency.
