Ann Margaret Diaz –
Babycook express vs babycook solo
I have been using the Babycook solo for 3months and i love the product very much. I recently received the New Babycook Express from Beaba USA as a promotion. First off, i like how clean looking it is. I got the product in Grey. If there were more options, it would be fantastic. When i opened the box, it came with a bigger product and with more washable parts. The major difference between the 2 products are:
1) water tank opening is bigger
2) the bowl itself is bigger in diameter and allows it more capacity for cooked food
3) the steam basket has additional device that allows the food to be mixed a little while it is being steamed
4) the knob has 4 options now: express mode, standard mode, off, and blender
As i was using this new product, i was expecting that it was as easy to operate as the babycook solo. Unfortunately, newer features also come with new quirks. I had to read the manual to figure out a few things, but i think once you get the hand of it, it wont be an issue.
Another thing i also noticed was that the mixing bowl was not as easy to remove in this new device. This becomes an issue if you are only working with one hand (other hand holding baby). This new device needed me to use both hands to remove the mixing bowl. I find that with the difficulty of handling the mixing bowl, i would probably trade this over the older models just for the convenience of being able to cook with only 1 hand.
While using the express cook feature, it was quicker than the previous models. The blender feature is also better with the better blade. It easily made my puree to a very fine texture and more even consistency.
Overall, i think this new product has lots of potential as it uses the previous models as prototype and improved the cooking time and the blade system. The only negative feature is the ease of use. I would very much appreciate being able to use the product with 1 hand only especially that my baby loves being carried and accompanies me while i do chores.
